*Festuca subuliflora
crinkle-awn fescue

Uncommon fescue, native to shady canyons of redwood forest and oak woodlands. Deep green blades form a nice bunch with flower panicles 18 inches to around 2 ft. tall. The awn tips are forked hence the common name crinkle-awn fescue. Good for shady areas with some moisture, although will tolerate dry shade as well. Not a show stopper, but interesting and pretty in a quiet way. Deer resistant.
