Native to North America with a wide distribution including California. Grows in sunny damp places where it blooms over a long period - summer through fall. Lush erect stems 3 - 4 ft. tall topped with numerous narrow spikes of lavender flowers in a candelabra effect. Great cut flower. Reseeds copiously. Dies to ground in winter.
